The Review:

After reading Every Summer After, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Carley Fortune’s latest novel, Meet Me at the Lake! This story is similar to Every Summer After in that teenagers fall in love and meet back up later in life, told through both timelines. Fern has to take over the family business operating a lakeside escape after her mother passes away, even though this was never what she wanted for her life. In walks none other than a guy she met 10 years ago, Will, to help her get the resort above water. Carley Fortune’s descriptions of the gorgeous lake AND Will’s gorgeousness 😍 make you feel like you’re right there living the moments with Fern. The novel really spoke to the power of a connection between two people, how quickly it can happen and how slow it is to fade, even if it was only 1 day and 10 years ago.

“You and me in one year, Fern Brookbanks,” he said. “Don’t let me down.”

And can we talk about this stunning book cover?!? 🩷💜
